The Museum
The Museo della Rappresentazione (MuRa) is part of the University Museum System (SiMuA), a coordinated group of structures dedicated to the classification, safeguarding, and enhancement of the cultural and scientific heritage of the University of Catania.

The MuRa aims to strengthen the teaching and research activities of the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR) through the introduction of innovative technologies designed for the repurposing and communication of the University’s and the local area’s historical, scientific, and cultural heritage. To this end, the following laboratories have been established within the museum to support its objectives:
- the Laboratory of Surveying, Representation, and Digital Reconstruction (R3D_LAB)
- the Laboratory of Tools for Architectural Design (sPrA)
These are open to internal research and teaching experiences and, at the same time, to dialogues of common interest with external entities, focusing on the application of local cultural heritage.
Collection
The villa houses two important collections: the Francesco Fichera projects archive and the G.B. Piranesi archive, as well as collections and archives of minor architects and artists.
